Association Vision is a leader in radio programming for associations.
We believe this medium offers a largely untapped public relations
opportunity. It also offers multiple distribution options – radio
programs today are not only heard through traditional broadcasting,
but also online and through podcasting.
Association Vision President Al Rickard was a host on the Association
Nation radio program, which aired for one year on WMET-AM 1160 in
Washington, DC. On his segment, “Communication
Success Stories,” he
interviewed a range of prominent association professionals. They
spoke about how their organizations achieved success in the public
relations arena. Audio files of several of these 15-minute interviews
can be heard here. The Association Nation program was highlighted
in an article in USAE newspaper.
Association Vision also created monthly half-hour radio programs
for two of its clients that aired on WMET-AM
1160 in Washington, DC throughout 2005. These programs were also
available online for on-demand listening by members and stakeholders.
Rickard hosted the monthly “Business Continuity Matters” program, sponsored
by the Disaster Recovery Institute International. The other client
program, “Career Voice,” sponsored by the Association
of Career Professionals International, was hosted by Marshall Brown,
a career counseling professional.
Samples of these programs can be heard below:

Association Vision has also produced 60-second
radio spots for several clients, which each achieved significant
exposure on leading radio news programs in a number of markets.
These spots are often produced to gain media exposure in a convention
city, or to publicize an association spokesperson commenting on
a key issue. Several sample radio spots can be heard below.

Earlier in his career, when he served as Vice President of Communications
at the Snack Food Association, Rickard worked with a public
relations agency to produce two radio commercials
for National Snack Food Month (“TV
Repair” and “Lost
and Found”) and also
appeared on two Washington, DC-area morning radio programs
talking about National Snack Food Month. Listen to the Harden
and Weaver interview on WTOP-AM
1500 and the Harris
in the Morning interview on WCXR-FM.
Rickard also hosts a monthly program on WMET-AM 1160 called "The
Spin Zone," which is all about bicycling. The show airs on the
third Sunday of each month from 1-2 p.m. and is simulcast
at www.wmet1160.com. Learn more about the program here, where you
can also listen to previous broadcasts.
