Services
Publishing is an integral function of virtually every association.
Today’s communication vehicles include magazines, newsletters,
e-newsletters, and Web sites.
Association Vision has experience with all these vehicles. Association
Vision President Al Rickard was editor and publisher of
several major association magazines before launching his
company, and he also launched and edited e-newsletters.
For example, Rickard revamped Executive Update magazine, published
by the former Greater Washington Society of Association
Executives, including a new editorial mission, redesign, and advertising
program that increased advertising revenue by 30 percent
in the first year.
He also launched the popular Fast Read
e-newsletter that is still produced today by the Center
for Association Leadership, an organization launched by
GWSAE that is now affiliated with the American Society of Association
Executives.
Since then, Association Vision has launched highly successful magazines
for two associations, including writing complete business
plans and creating comprehensive advertising media kits.
The NACS Magazine was launched into
a crowded field of trade publications with unique market
positioning and won the Association Trends Publications Contest for
Best Trade Association Magazine. It also generated nearly $1 million
in advertising revenue in its first year. Read a feature
story about the launch
that appeared in Association Publishing magazine to learn more.
Association Vision also wrote creative marketing copy for the NACS
Magazine portion of a comprehensive NACS
Media Kit that promoted
advertising, exhibiting, and online advertising opportunities.
Sleep Savvy magazine was created to
serve the retail customers of sleep products manufacturers, and
this bimonthly publication reached $500,000 in advertising revenue
in its first year. Read an article about the launch that appeared
in Executive Update magazine. Association Vision also wrote creative
marketing copy for the Sleep
Savvy Media Kit that promoted advertising,
exhibiting, and online advertising opportunities.
Association Vision also provides complete outsourced publishing
services, conducts readership surveys, publishes membership directories,
does freelance writing, and handles advertising sales. For example,
we currently provide complete publishing services to the International
Association of Refrigerated Warehouses for its popular Cold Facts
newsletter.
For clients looking to analyze the their publishing operations,
Association Vision also conducts publishing audits that examine all
facets of publication management, editorial, production, circulation,
advertising, and design.
Several clients have also hired Association Vision to publish their
magazines and/or provide editorial services on an interim basis while
a key employee is on leave.
