Audrey R. Rothstein, CAE
Senior Communication Consultant
Audrey R. Rothstein is a Certified Association Executive (CAE) with more than 25 years of experience in communications, publishing, marketing, and association management. She has led integrated communications programs at both professional societies and trade associations. She is known for her creativity and her ability to leverage communications initiatives to maximize results.
As a consultant, she led an Association Vision project to create a comprehensive communications plan for the American Floral Endowment and has conducted several other projects.
Rothstein has worked in the United States and India for large and small organizations. She has developed comprehensive communications plans, published periodicals consistently rated as the top member benefit, and launched websites that facilitate member interaction.
At the Child Life Council (CLC), Rothstein served as the deputy director, where she was responsible for public relations, promotion and marketing.
At the Association for Conflict Resolution (ACR), Rothstein was the director of communications and editor of the ACR magazine, ACResolution, which focused on topics including climate change, social justice, diversity, eldercare, and more. She led the organization’s international campaign to build public awareness about the field of conflict resolution.
Rothstein was the director of marketing and communications at the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA), where her accomplishments included cutting the magazine production cycle by seven days and facilitating a 21 percent growth in ad sales. She also developed a targeted membership recruitment campaign that turned around a 10-year membership decline following a 20 percent dues increase.
For the College and University Professional Association for Human Resources (CUPA-HR), Rothstein served as director of communications, associate executive director, and interim co-executive director. She received two international video awards for Sexual Harassment Orientation for College and University Faculty and Administrators. She also earned a Gold Circle Award from the American Society for Association Executives (ASAE) for the CUPA-HR Journal.
In India, Rothstein worked with several non-governmental organizations (NGOs), including the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA) and Dasra, on capacity building initiatives and communications strategies.
Rothstein has served as the chair of the ASAE Communication Section Council. She was selected by the American Women for International Understanding (AWIU) to participate in an international exchange with the All China Women’s Federation in China. For the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), she served as a facilitator for Global Pulse, an international exchange.
Rothstein is a member of ASAE and a member and former vice president of the American Women for International Understanding.
